I am VAT-registered: from when do I have to issue e-invoices?

From 1 January 2026. Every invoice to another taxpayer or a public body goes out as an e-invoice and is fiscalised. Receipts to consumers stay as they are. Checked by the Tax Administration.

Who must?
All VAT-registered businesses under the Fiscalisation Act, whatever their legal form.
What to do?
  1. Choose an information intermediary or a tool from the shelf.
  2. Set the authorisations in FiskAplikacija.
  3. Send every B2B and B2G invoice as an e-invoice and fiscalise it; fiscalise received ones within 5 working days.
Where to file?
The Tax Administration's Fiscalisation 2.0 system, through an information intermediary.
Who checks?
Tax Administration (Porezna uprava)
Fine

We are checking the fine in the source; until then we do not write a number.

What if I am already late?
Start now: pick an intermediary or a tool and begin issuing e-invoices. For the period without e-invoices, talk to your accountant.

What gets said wrong online

Wrong: "I have to send e-invoices to consumers too."

Right: E-invoices are for invoices to other taxpayers and public bodies. Consumers get receipts as before, with fiscalisation.
