Do I have to register every guest in eVisitor?
Yes. Anyone providing overnight stays in Croatia (apartment, rooms, camping, hotel, private host) registers every guest in eVisitor within 24 hours of arrival and checks them out within 24 hours of departure, from an ID card or passport, and calculates and pays the tourist tax. Access to eVisitor is given by the local tourist board. Checked by the State Inspectorate (tourism inspection).
- Who must?
- Legal and natural persons providing overnight stays in accommodation, private hosts and family farms with accommodation.
- What to do?
- Request eVisitor access from the local tourist board (a categorisation decision is a condition).
- Register every guest within 24 hours of arrival and check them out within 24 hours of departure; data from the ID card or passport.
- Show the tourist tax in the price list and pay it as calculated in eVisitor.
- Where to file?
- eVisitor (guest registration, tourist tax calculation).
- Who checks?
- State Inspectorate (tourism inspection) and the tourist board
- Fine
-
Fines are set by the Tourist Tax Act and the Hospitality Act; we are confirming the amounts.
We are confirming the amount in the source before we publish it.
- What if I am already late?
- Register the guests now and request eVisitor access if you have none; late registrations are a smaller problem than none.
What gets said wrong online
Wrong: "The agency does it for me."
Right: The agency registers guests only if the contract with it says so; otherwise the host is responsible.
